Celtic spiralling circles have strong symbolic importance in Irish history and art.
The internationally recognised image of three interconnected spiralling circles is at the core of the inspiration for this style, whereby Rory combines three ingredients, flavours, or colours to represent Celtic art. The dishes are also created in a circular pattern, bringing a deep connection in the Celtic Cuisine concept.
Folkoric stories is our way of connecting with times past, with our heritage. The knowledge and how the story was told was a very important part of social interaction.
Rory takes these rich stories from our past and uses them to inspire the creation of dishes which remind us of the ties to our ancestors. This gives knowledge to the mind as well as nourishment to the body.
Land vision food is inspired by the images left by our ancestors and the geographical vision which is Ireland. The dishes are designed to, in a creative fashion, resemble features of Irelands landscape and views.

Hailing from Bray, Co. Wicklow, a Gaeilgoir and enthusiast of all things Celtic, Rory Morahan (Ruairi O’Moracháin) a.k.a. The Druid Chef, is a unique chef who wants to connect the Irish people with their heritage through developing a culinary style that is truly and uniquely Irish.
Rory has extended his skill set beyond hotels and restaurants spending time in the area of Product Development whereby he created full ranges of food products for a number of well known retail outlets.
Amongst his international TV appearances on channels like CBS, ABC, BBC and Rai.tv, one highlight was on RTE’s The Late Late Show with Pat Kenny when he astonished his audience by cooking Christmas Dinner in three minutes. He also hosted ‘Celtic True Food’ on TG4 displaying the art of cooking on the open fire bringing alive his concept of ‘Celtic Cuisine’ and ‘Irish Culture through Food’.
As well as his TV appearances, Rory can also be regularly be found on Irelands airwaves featuring on stations such as RTÉ, Radio na Gaelteacht, News Talk , Today FM , East Coast Radio and quite a few local stations, as he continues to spread his concept of Celtic Cuisine.
The “Druid Chef” is also a regular on the college lecture circuit giving classes at Tallaght IT, The Newry and Dublin Institutes of Technology (D.I.T.s). These lectures have given Rory another outlet for his impressive public speaking skills and a chance to inspire a new generation of Irish chefs with Celtic Cuisine concepts and more.
